Reader(s) is the name used by those of fairy tale descent to refer to those who have no fairy tale family connections, usually from the Woods Beyond.

Origin

The origin of the word 'Reader' has been around in the fairy-tale world for 200 years. After the Good-Evil war, August Sader, a seer, told Rafal that a student that was not from this world would match his Evil soul. In return for this information, Sader was given at spot at the school, and Rafal began taking children from the one village that wasn't magical- Gavaldon, from beyond the woods.

Trivia

  • The name Reader means that the person only knows the fairy tale world by storybooks, and not actually seeing it.
  • In book one, the name was often used as an insult, such when Castor snorted that no Reader had become the top student in "200 years", and becomes upset when Sophie is put into his group.
    • Ironically, some of the most famous fairy tale characters were Readers.
