Radley was described as ugly by Sophie. He has buckteeth and anaemically red hair.

Radley admired Sophie,

although she hated him for his looks, and secretly thought that he was evil. She scorned him all the time. When the School Master was about to pick new students for the school, Sophie put up with him for some time, to show how good she was. Radley was one of her "good deeds". Radley had an undying admiration towards Sophie. When no one wanted to let Sophie sign their books in Book two, Radley was the only one who came. He thought Agatha as a witch and told Sophie to be his friend and let go of Agatha.
