‘‘ You are hereby accepted to the School for Good, Enlightenment and Enhancement and awarded the official title of: EVER. With Warm Welcome, Clarissa Dovey, Dean of the School for Good ’’
—Ever Certificate

Professor Clarissa Dovey was the Dean of Good, and also Agatha's and Cinderella's fairy godmother. Clarissa originally taught Good Deeds to Evers for the first year and then Princeless Power in the next year at the School for Girl. In the third year, she was frozen in the Brig of Betrayers until she was released by Lady Lesso, so she did not appear until near the end of The Last Ever After. In Quests for Glory, she speaks with the coven through her crystal ball during their quest to find a new School Master, although using her crystal ball seems to weaken her. She is known to be the most sought after Fairy Godmother in the world.

Appearance[]

Dovey has a 'grandmotherly' beehive of white hair, luminous skin and brown eyes. She wore a chartreuse high-necked dress speckled with iridescent green beetle wings.

Personality[]

As a fairy godmother, Clarissa is a woman with a serene and peaceful demeanor, she cares a lot about her friend, her students and even more so with the girls she helps, however when provoked she can become very temperamental and somewhat rude.

History[]

When she was young Clarissa was taken to the school of good, she became friends with Leonora Lesso, although they were very different, the two had several things in common, including hating Evelyn Sader, after graduating she became the Fairy Godmother and was considered the most wanted fairy of the Endless Woods Beyond.

School For Good And Evil[]

At first Dovey disapproved of Agatha after she nearly burned down the school. Later on after Agatha announced to the whole class that she saw the school master Dovey knew it happened but didn't want others to know she refrained Agatha from speaking about it, later on addressing it as rumor. As Agatha kept getting ranked higher, Dovey got a more soft spot on her, especially on a test which she got a 100% score on it but the answers were not what Dovey was looking for, she suddenly knew something was bothering Agatha. She helped Agatha know that she is beautiful just the way she is, and realize her self worth. She tried to get Agatha to look at a mirror but had to do it another way for Agatha to finally believe.

A World Without Princes[]

Dovey and Leonora Lesso were discovered to be friends. This was because they were in the same school and because they both despised and feared Evelyn Sader, Dovey got Sophie and Agatha and hid them in August Sader's office, they showed the girls what happened and wanted things to go back to normal, they believed that once Agatha and Tedros were reunited and Sophie is dead then everything would go back to normal. Dovey was later on convinced that if Sophie and Agatha went back home with their happy ending then everything would go back to the way it was.

The Last Ever After[]

During the third book Clarissa along with all the teachers of the school of good are locked in the dungeons of the school of new evil.

A Quest for Glory[]

TBA

A Crystal of Time[]

Dovey's character was a minor character. She was the dean of Good, like always, and helped the Ingraine Crew via, her crystal ball, by communicating by talking to her students from it. Dovey then eventually got beheaded by the hands of Japeth, kneeling towards the then-king Rhian in a battle between Tedros, and Agatha's army and the Lion and The Snake.

Abilities[]

  • Wish Granting: Dovey can grant the wishes of others although these are temporality.
  • Magic: As a fairy godmothe, Miss Dovey could wield incredibly powerful magic.
    • Illusion Manipulation: Clarissa can create powerful illusions that even a skilled wizard could be mistaken for.
    • Energy Projection: Through her glow from her finger or her magic wand, Clarissa can fire powerful beams of destructive magical energy.
    • Transfiguration: Clarissa can transform objects and people into whatever she wants, such as mice into horses and a pumpkin into a carriage.

Equipment[]

Magic Wand: Clarissa has a magic wand which she uses to grant wishes, this wand is more powerful than her finger shine.

Relationships[]

Lady Lesso[]

Clarissa was Lady Lesso's best friend and fellow dean. Their friendship runs deep, Lady Lesso going so far as to risk her life to protect Clarissa from Aric, out of fear that he would destroy 'the one love she had in this world'. Lady Lesso dubs Clarissa as 'her Agatha'. When Lady Lesso dies in The Last Ever After, Clarissa weeps over her dead best friend. In the fifth book, Dovey is wrapped in Lesso's arms when Dovey dies.

Cinderella[]

Clarissa was Cinderella's fairy godmother. She gives her a gown and her famous glass slippers to go to the ball, presumably to win Prince Kaveen’s heart. What she doesn't know is that Cinderella never wanted the prince, though she never finds out about this.

Agatha of Woods Beyond[]

The most wanted Fairy Godmother of the Endless Woods at your service

Clarissa was the presiding Dean when Agatha attends the School for Good. At first, their relationship does not extend more than a teacher-student one, but when Agatha scores 100% on a test every other Ever had failed, Clarissa has a talk with Agatha, which results in her asking her what would make her happy. Agatha replies that being beautiful would make her life easier. Clarissa pretends to grant her wish, going so far as to make her believe that she'd changed her appearance entirely, only to reveal that it was all an elaborate ruse to show her that she had been beautiful all along. In the next three books, Clarissa acts as Agatha's guide and mentor. Agatha was tricked into believing Dovey was Tedros when Dovey turned them all into Tedros'. Agatha doesn't realize this until Dovey is killed by Japeth. (ACOT)

Trivia[]

  • There is a chicken pot pie named after her at Beauty and the Feast.
